The body has been designed to renew itself through continuous self-correction. These same principles also apply to the healing of psyche, spirit, and soul.
Everyone can heal, but not everyone will. Let’s begin by unwinding the repetitive thoughts, feelings, memories, worry and fear that live in your consciousness – let’s soothe it all by caring for our bodies with gentle practices. It’s time to become softer with ourselves and begin again.
We are being asked to let go of any parts of us that are gripping, bracing or holding on to the old ways and programs that have kept us hidden and safe.⁣ The tighter you hold on to what is no longer serving you, the more suffering you will feel.⁣

If you focus too directly on a problem, you have a problem for life. If we can soften our gaze and grip on the issue, everything changes. This  work is an opportunity to surrender to the next level of not knowing.⁣ To begin a new relationship with ourselves and our bodies and to enter into the innate healing intelligence and deep wisdom of the body – and to be with what arises.

We all hold so much chronic tension in the body. Our tension is our ego resisting, not wanting to receive the emotional information so it locks it in the unconscious, in the body.  In our work together we will practice how to turn towards our tension to receive their information and unlock the life force again, to experience more freedom and aliveness. 

You will be guided to listen to the subtle language of your body, its sensations, its contractions and learn how to be present with it all in a way that brings spaciousness and deep peace.

During our work together, you will meet the unknown in the present moment. The act of meeting each moment of life from the perspective of noticing your body – offers unexpected alternatives to a life lived by repeating patterns from the past. During our healing bodywork on the table, we consciously open ourselves to be affected and moved by our experience in that moment. We notice patterned responses and allow ourselves to be informed by our spontaneous interaction with this moment.
Having a new or different experience, can lead to unexpected healing outcomes. We will be with the emotions that arise in each moment and allow ourselves to feel the supported by the space and ground beneath us.
Many of us have learned to repress and disconnect from our emotions – because no one paid attention to them; and so we could stay connected to our caregivers and continue to receive love and approval from these relationships in our lives. 
If you push down your feelings, they will later be expressed as physical or emotional symptoms (chronic stress, anxiety, depression, pain, gut issues, relationship concerns, headaches, chronic health concerns) – as these symptoms are the body’s way of getting our attention.

The true joy of my work is allowing people the opportunity to experience their whole life as a practice for this very moment. To rewrite the blueprint that has been etched across their hearts, their bodies and their minds and to mend that great divide, one cell at a time.

You simply cannot go on any longer running on autopilot – doing what is expected of you, holding your breath with a tight smile on your face. You are taking it as a sign that something has got to change.

You are ready to feel alive again – many people reach a point in life where they feel their life as they know it has gotten too small for them, and they are called to express the fullness of who they are in their relationships and in the world.

It is absolutely possible to feel wildly uninhibited and expansive in your life without having to give up life as you know it, or suffer tremendously.

You may be surprised to realize that the experiences, beliefs, feelings that were supposedly banal, difficult, tragic, shameful, secret, or unimportant, are actually sacred and contain powerful medicine that can heal you and others when transformed through the alchemy of the creative-embodiment process.

When you step fully into this embodied expression you become more attractive both to yourself and to those around you. It becomes possible to go after what you really want and get it.

“I can’t take it any more” becomes “I don’t have to!” or “I know what to do and I can do it!”. Anger becomes liberating. Boredom blossoms into excitement and chaos finds a natural order. A shamed and defeated posture is transformed into an open chest, a strong spine, and a calm and assured gaze.

We can be together and notice what you are feeling in your body. Even if you don’t notice anything, you may be holding or suppressing feelings that may not always make sense to you. Let’s make sense of it together and begin to make space for energy in your body to flow.
Most of what we struggle with in the present day, has its roots in what happened many years ago – early developmental trauma, mother & father wounding, intergenerational trauma patterns, pre & peri natal trauma- happening from birth and into later childhood. We are often not able to know exactly what happened during these times, but as we go deeper in your experience and what your body is holding, we can begin to have a good idea about these trauma patterns and how they are showing up in your body responses and in your life today.
Those who want to work with me for relational somatic energetic healing, have often tried a lot of other modalities first before coming in. Each person is knowledgeable and aware and still they haven’t been able to find lasting relief from chronic stress, anxiety, relationship concerns, eating patterns and addictive behaviours that get in the way of living life more fully and feeling fully alive.

The way we experience relationship, to ourselves, to the people in our lives and the world around us, is one of the most important aspects of being human.
We all desire connection, security in self and the ability to live feeling whole and free. Throughout our lives, we learn to protect ourselves, often unknowingly creating trauma responses and reactions that come from wanting to feel safe and secure. We can feel disconnected from our experiences, from ourselves and from the people around us, unable to decipher our physical responses during elevated emotions, and we settle into a knowledge that we aren’t showing up as the fullest and most honest expression of ourselves.
Once this truth is recognized, we begin to search for missing pieces. True transformation comes from learning how to embody and integrate everything you’re learning to explore, so that genuine and lasting change can take place.
When you learn how to tune into the body, how to become aware of your survival patterns and begin to heal trauma, the outcome will always be more honest intimate relationships.
Trauma ruptures connection. When you are able to support yourself somatically, you repair and move through a deepening of your relationship to self and others.

What to Expect During a Whole Body Health Somatic Practice –
Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma Session

For true emotional and physical healing, we can’t leave our body and how it feels and responds, out of the process. Each person needs something very specific in their healing journey, which is why it is so important to have a customized approach with sessions that are specifically tailored for you – a combination of emotionally-focused psychotherapy and body-focused Transforming Touch, Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma.

Your body doesn’t have energy – it is energy. When we allow traumatic stress that is contained in our nervous system to begin to move through our system – flow begins to happen in our body and we feel more energetic, grounded, healthy and alive.

We explore our fluid bodies through the language of sensation, co-regulating touch,and  subtle movement. We have the opportunity of allowing time to slow down, to notice, let go and shed that which needs to shed, and to come through anew and refreshed.

For those who would like to focus on a body-focused, somatic approach, we begin by talking about your background, symptoms and history. We do this online and or in-person by sitting in chairs across from each other or you lie on your back on a table. When you are sitting in a chair, we can do some talk therapy, and you may also be asked if you are open to closing your eyes and noticing your feelings, emotions and body sensations that are happening for you in each moment.

For those who would like to do Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma Session – sessions consist of lying on a table with eyes closed – and I offer touch on several areas of the body: the head, stress organs, the belly, and joints in the body.

Sessions are done fully clothed. Each session is one-hour, unless we are doing an extended session – and is unique depending on what you are experiencing on that day and would like to focus on during a session – we want to tune in and understand what’s really going on in your body – beyond pathology and diagnoses – to allow your body to move into a flow state, rather than to remain stuck in a stress response state – during the session and in the hours and days afterwards.

The Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP)+
Co-Regulating Touch Trauma Resolution Bodywork = Somatic Healing

The POLYVAGAL THEORY – SAFE & SOUND PROTOCOL OFFERING – The Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) is an auditory listening intervention for adults and children – using headphones – that is intended to accelerate the effectiveness of other modalities by preparing each person’s emotional and physiological state. Dr. Stephen Porges (developer of The Safe & Sound Protocol & of The Polyvagal Theory) explains that we need a calm autonomic/physiological state for health, growth and restoration, and achieving this becomes the foundation of an effective therapy. 

The Safe & Sound Protocol is a way to support a change  in your physiological state; opening the system to further neural change and improvement for other therapies that follow. The process is designed to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience. The intervention uses prosodic vocal music that has been filtered to train the middle ear muscles to focus in on the frequency envelope of human speech. You’ll find you are better able to feel calm – less chronically stressed and/or anxious.  Clients who have experienced long-held trauma and are healing from PTSD, troubling chronic health concerns, chronic pain and troubling chronic emotional responses, can experience an increased sense of safety in their physiological state.

HEART HEALING SESSIONS – Heart healing sessions are all about you, your path and healing. It is about several sessions scheduled over a period of days to support you along your healing path.

My clients love this work, it is nourishing and gentle. It is wonderful for healing early developmental trauma, attachment repair and shifting to a more regulated place where the heart can freely open into abundance.

You may want to schedule these sessions as a focused time for letting go of all that you healing. Heart Healing sessions consist of combining several sessions over a short period of time. They are a great way to get out of your daily routine and be immersed in healing. We may meet for multiple sessions per day over 2-4 days. Since you will be out of your typical routine, this will give plenty of time for integration of the work and healing.

The Heart Healing Sessions are held in my office in Markham. You can schedule between 2-4 sessions over a period of days. Since this work is done away from your typical day to day life, integration of the work is deep and truly transformative.

OTHER Offerings – NURTURE SURROUND HEALING SESSION– 90-minute In-Person session. Allow yourself to slow down and experience deep healing. You are deeply supported on the table with weighted blankets, soft pillows and bean bags on your body – you choose what is most comfortable for you – providing soft, nurturing care – feeling supported and held – with choice. We will take time to attune to your body’s core needs and comfort at a deep level. Your needs are important. I will use a variety of touch skills with you – and invite you to place a hand wherever you would like to on your body – and to pause, slow down and notice what you feel.

Using mind-body skills to stabilize your nervous system – befriending, grounding, slowing down, tracking and resourcing. We will listen to your body’s narrative while utilizing body-mind emotion dialogue. We will explore biological survival strategies and process historical trauma by creating moment-to-moment interpersonal experiences of safe connection. We will utilize non-cognitive senses of relational connection – auditory, visual, movement, and touch – co-creating manageable ways to defuse internal feelings of pressure, anxiety and stress.
