You might be afraid to be alone, afraid of not having enough money, afraid of getting too close to people, afraid of getting a divorce, afraid of failing, afraid of stepping outside of your comfort zone, afraid of death.
You feel swallowed whole by your fear. And you become frozen. Paralyzed. Stuck.
If you look into the heart of fear, what do you find? Nothing.
Fear is a familiar feeling that stops us in our tracks and paralyzes us. It may even keep us stuck for a long time. But it doesn’t have to.
If we look closely, we realize that fear is a familiar feeling. A belief deep within us that we understand to be true, an unquestioned emotion that dampens our enthusiasm for life.
If you see your fear clearly for what it actually is, it falls apart and stops affecting you.
Fear prevents us from feeling the love that exists within us, which is what we’re made of. When we live in fear, we miss out on the joy and love of actually living.
When we live in fear, we’re caught in tunnel vision. And we overlook the reality of who we are.
Who you are is not this fearful, limited being cowering in the corner.
When fearful thoughts arise, take a breath. Say, “Wait a minute.” Be still. Know that you don’t have to be held captive by your fear.
You can learn to be open to what life offers, primed to say “Yes!” rather than “No”.
Then, you will truly realize that anything is possible.
