“As a woman radiating with permission to be her full self, you offer the powerful frequency of possibility for others. You become the fulfillment of the ancient dream of your foremothers – a woman who is an individual, a woman unto herself.” ~ Bethany Webster

At the end of my life, I want to feel like I’ve lived.

I want to know that I’ve taken brave steps—towards connection, safety, healing and aliveness – out to the edges of what’s comfortable.

The unknown can feel scary—and still, we can take one step at a time, towards a new pathway – something that makes us feel alive.
This is living — and learning to trust life.

I hope you’ve had some time to slow down, feel your body and breathe deeply this summer. I invite you to do this again and again.
Give yourself space to sink into this moment, allow yourself to connect to sensation and for your body to just be, where emotions are the guidelines. Restore wholeness, energy and feelings – reclaim feelings of pleasure inside of your body. Allow yourself to begin again.
How does the rhythm of your heart feel today?

What is your throat saying?

How about the bones in each of your toes?
How is your energy and blood flowing today?

How are you responding to your thoughts, emotions and information that passes through your mind and body?

Engaging in dialogue with various aspects of your bodily experience is essential to somatic healing work.

Maybe there are words, but there might also may be sounds, feelings, impulses, movement, images or memories. You can learn to utilize this information to understand what needs and/or wants have previously gone unmet, and what attention, intentions, and actions might serve you moving forward.

Providing a felt sense of ease and presence, attuned listening and a container for deep work are my offerings to you. The symptoms we experience (like anxiety and depression) are often due to unresolved traumatic stress in the body. By slowly and gently tracking sensation, movement impulses and images we learn to listen to what our body is telling us, and we return to who we truly are. We begin by exploring what is happening in your daily life and relationships, and what you are noticing in your body, thoughts, and feelings.

Being an individual means the right to have perspectives, values and feelings that deserve respect, even if others don’t agree.

Being a true individual was a freedom that was not afforded by most of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers. Claiming the right to be an individual could have meant injury, death or banishment. Staying small was indeed a way to be safe and out of harm’s way.

We may find ourselves entangled in the same suffering as our family of origin and our ancestors – completely unaware that we can break free of a longstanding cycle that we may have been repeating in your life. This work is an opening to new horizons that were impossible before.

The foundation of my whole being and body-focused healing practice is Integrative Relational Somatic Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Transforming Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma (Table Work), Family Systems Trauma Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Healing the Mother & Father Wound, Ancestral Healing, Pre & Peri Natal Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy (or “parts” work). Working with individuals, couples, children and families, we will process deeply held, hidden trauma, work on nervous system regulation and build an internal core and a sense of connection within your body so that you can relate to the world with confidence, clarity and curiosity.

I specialize in helping clients heal from early developmental (hidden) trauma, relational wounding from our families of origin and intergenerational trauma that doesn’t belong to us – deeply held in our bodies throughout the generations. We all carry the seeds of healing and wellness inside of us, even when we feel utterly overwhelmed and hopeless; and I will work with you to create the right conditions so those seeds can take root and grow.
Whatever the source of your distress, you don’t have to do this alone. Shining light on painful wounds takes courage, and I have great respect for all of those who have the courageous willingness to move toward healing.

We have been and continue to face an epidemic of disconnection.

Right now, more than ever, many women feel disconnected. We are disconnected from ourselves, from each other, from our truth, from the earth, and from authentic community.

We feel isolated and alone, even though we are busy and our time is always taken up with responsibilities and expectations.

We long for our bodies to be held and seen in the deepest places of our wounding – caring for ourselves no matter what – find connection and safety within yourself and in connection with others.

Let’s be in authentic community together.

We have everything within us that we need to heal and grow. Safe, supportive, and collaborative relationships help us to tap into our innate systems of healing.

Whether focusing on overall emotional and physiological regulation, managing symptoms related to anxiety or depression, or addressing specific traumas or stressors, we can work together to move away from “stuckness” and towards an enhanced sense of harmony and well-being – resolving symptoms of chronic stress.

Attachment Wounding – Healing the Break in the Bond with Our Mother/Father – Early Developmental Trauma Healing

The language of the body is energy, flow and fluidity, it is our first language, our most honest expression and the closest to the truth of who we are and how we relate to ourselves and the world around us. The body speaks through sensations, the physical energy of our feelings and the way we move.

Together, we use the body’s language to connect with our internal worlds and focuses on supporting the person to stay grounded and present in the body during the therapy process.

By following the flow of movement and energy in our bodies we can express our inner experiences in a clear and simple manner and use the body itself as a vehicle to create lasting change.

A session will often consist of a combination of talking, listening for somatic sensations and exploring simple movement structures. This is done slowly and sensitively with pauses along the way for the participant to observe what is happening and to explore the arising feelings and sensations. The body takes the lead and I will hold, witness and support your process with my hands, heart and presence of being – engaging with the emerging themes.

Transforming Touch, Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma is a protocol based healing modality that supports the body towards better health through healing the nervous system.  Often times when we are young, our caretakers aren’t able to fully connect and support our early development due to emotional, medical or psychological reasons.  This is a way of repairing those early ruptures through building somatic trust and attachment.  The way it works, is that we support different places in your body and have options to adding enhancements for more specific somatic clarity.  We understand that we have a window of tolerance and our goal is to expend that window of tolerance – so we have more options and can experience more joy in your life.

We will gently heal early childhood wounding, in the safety of the present moment and within the therapeutic space. When the longing to be free is greater than the fear of pain, an openness can be found to discover and let go of one’s deepest beliefs, patterns and conditioning.

Let’s face what is together and redefine our lives, based on the knowledge of our deepest links to the universe.

Healing the Mother Wound – Bridging the Mother Gap

One of my areas of specialty, is working with healing the Mother Wound. When healing the mother wound, you can:

  • Learn how to feel and process your emotions.
  • Discover that emotions and feelings are a source of wisdom and information.
  • Learn how to develop healthy boundaries. Where you end and the other begins, and know which emotions are mine and which belong to the other.
  • Learn that it’s okay to put your needs first—that you matter too.
  • Practice compassion for yourself and by extension other people.
  • Practice taking yourself less seriously—how to play and have fun.

Accepting your mother for who she is—both limitations and gifts, so that you can freely claim your own inner gifts and learn how to better love your mother. This is mother wound healing work. Stepping in to your full power as a woman.

Did you know that many symptoms and diseases are related to early life stress?

Trauma sets into place a biology of stress and survival. This is a huge burden on the body, and can cause disease to develop decades later.

For example, early life stress can cause changes in the expression of a gene that causes exaggerated inflammatory responses that are associated with adult autoimmune diseases, cancer and all other immune-system-related conditions.

But, this is actually the good news because we can do things to change our biology from stress and survival to calm, grateful, and connected.

This change can help you protect both your physical and mental health and is part of what we call healing from trauma.

We create a field of safe space to explore these tender parts of ourselves. As we discover we can meet them with deep acceptance and care, we have space to realize there is so much more to life.

The heart essence of all true healing involves being present with, and allowing, what is. Yet, there are many life challenges that can interfere with our ability to be present with what is, such as: emotional wounding, hidden trauma and the symptoms we feel, physical pain and discomfort due to chronic illness, relational disturbance and conflict, negative beliefs about ourselves, others, life itself.

You will have the opportunity to work with these challenges in your body-mind so you can develop more capacity to be present with what is and find true healing and awakening.

This is a combination of therapeutic support, body-focused work, as well as a focus on connecting to nature, the earth, the healing feminine and all there is. We will focus on:

Body:   Regulating and balancing body physiology
Emotions:  Increasing our capacity to be with emotions
Mind:  Being with and releasing traumatic memories and beliefs

Our work together will include:

  • Deepened recognition of your true nature through guided connection to the deepest parts of the core of your being.
  • Healing practices to untangle long-held mother/father wound patterning held in the body.
  • Pre & perinatal healing practices to provide a new experience of being birthed into the world.
  • Integenerational trauma healing – healing long-held energy from the past
  • Co-regulating touch bodywork for trauma – specialized touch and table work for healing early developmental trauma patterns held in the body.
  • Somatic practices to help regulate the nervous system and build resilience.
  • Psychotherapeutic processes for resolving the blocks to our full expression.

The presence of our own being is a powerful healing force. As we awaken to/as being and allow it to fully meet all our humanness as it is, we are healed and transformed from within.

You don’t need to be concerned with changing who you are or figuring out how to solve all your problems. You can’t erase your painful past. These goals will keep your mind busy forever and won’t bring you the happiness you long for.

Right now in this moment, you can relax away from the stressful mind and lean into the open, loving space of being aware that is completely at ease with things as they are.

And this is what’s true in any moment.

Slow down and recognize what is present for you.

  • Instead of feeding the story of lack and limitation for one more second, you become aware of the breath.
  • Instead of embellishing the drama of your emotions, you expand your attention to be aware of physical sensations appearing in your body.
  • Then letting go of the breath and physical sensations, you rest in presence, coming home to the peace of your true nature.

Conditioned programming recurs—that’s its nature. It pulls you into ruminating about the past and worrying about what might come. When you enter the timeless now, and it’s an all-encompassing, naturally welcoming field of presence that holds everything with love.

Working with themes such as early development trauma, medical trauma and chronic pain, and examining how our bodies have constricted over time to help us survive. Although once effective in our survival, they are no longer required to constrict us. Using somatic practices, release techniques and embodiment attunement exercises to reduce body constrictions and enhance one’s vitality and restore resilience and well-being.

Experience yourself living and being in an unrestricted body. Soften years of holding, gripping and straining melt away. Take us on this journey inward through Awareness, Physical Sensation and Emotion, allowing us to fully embody ourselves in an entirely new way. As she said during our last session…..”it’s like remembering to come back to our wholeness – that part that has never been fragmented.

Together, we will recognize and care for the tender and young parts of ourselves that still live in us and are the fuel behind our struggles in everyday life. In a supportive field of loving connection, we’ll bring attention to the places in us that feel unsafe, unseen, and disconnected. And we’ll practice skills and wisdom-based tools to care for the fear and feelings of inadequacy that drive these stressful energies. We’ll discover the possibility of relaxing our nervous systems and expanding into the spacious openness of the present moment.

Here, finally we’re available to peace, freedom, intimacy, and inspiration.

Together, we create a field of safe space to explore these tender parts of ourselves. As we discover we can meet them with deep acceptance and care, we have space to realize there is so much more to life.

Over and over, we’re guided to be grounded in present moment awareness and live it in all areas of our lives.
Experience the part of yourself that has never been hurt. Resolve hidden trauma patterns using gentle attunement and trauma release somatic practices.

Heal emotional wounds, reduce anxiety, and move through long-held emotional and physical patterns using mind-body integration and subtle energy clearing.
Practice being more focused, present and resilient in your every day life.
Practice being grounded and settled in your relationships and social situations.
Practice quieting your mind and body with powerful body-focused techniques. Experience the core of your being as innate clarity, love and power.
This is an offer of deep wisdom for your body, wise to humanness, wise to universal love, wise to the process of deep transformation.

We will focus on a wide variety of areas of concern that you may have:

  • Family of Origin Relational & Ancestral Healing – Understand the effect of your early childhood or adverse childhood experiences on your emotional & physical health now
  • Somatic Deep Body Healing – Reprocessing deeply held trauma within your brain and nervous system
  • Attachment Healing – Rewire early attachment and familial patterns – Mother & Father Wounding
  • Birth Trauma & Early Developmental Trauma Healing – Learn about your HPA axis, levels of cortisol and adrenaline and how these may be adversely be effecting you
  • Embodied Recovery – Understand your somatic narrative and cultivate resiliency as a felt sense in your body
  • Embodied Movement – Understand how movement, flow and sound can help you move through deeply held emotion
  • Become aware of how stress feels in your body
  • Facilitate emotional processing of deeply held or stuck emotion
  • Process long-held anger, grief & loss
  • Reduce feelings of anxiety, depression and overwhelm
  • Integrate gut felt sense with cognition
  • Work with and know your own needs and self care
  • Become aware of stress activation patterns
  • Work with communication, energy, movement, boundaries & limits
I support individuals and couples to uncover the root cause of the emotional and physical symptoms that they are experiencing. Our symptoms can be indications that our bodies and lifestyles are out of balance.  With a special interest in chronic stress, chronic pain, ongoing chronic women’s health concerns, including eating disorders, cycles of anxiety, overwhelm and and hormonal health – from PMS and fertility to menopause, and digestive issues.

If you find yourself repeating painful patterns in your relationships – and/or are you often feeling frustrated, overwhelmed or anxious?

Perhaps you’re ready to stop avoiding, numbing, fighting, running or dissociating from the pain? I can support you to heal long-held trauma that shows up as working too much, eating disorders, addition to drugs and alcohol, chronic stress, pain and illness.

Connect to your core self and allow your body to feel fully alive – this alone can begin to restore what was lost through developmental trauma and life’s circumstances. We each have within us everything we need to recover from what happened to us, or what should’ve happened and did not.

I am deeply devoted to supporting others to remember the innate deep wisdom of their hearts as part of my journey.

Understand, nurture and embrace your incredible body, mind and spirit – allowing yourself to thrive and grow with divine potential – at every stage of life.

Who would you be if you felt nourished every day?
Say ‘yes’ to what feels nourishing, joyful and expansive.

Be ever so gentle with your heart.

I look forward to being with you.

sending soft love your way, Kim xoxoxo

What to Expect During a Whole Body Health Somatic Practice –
Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma Session

For true emotional and physical healing, we can’t leave our body and how it feels and responds, out of the process. Each person needs something very specific in their healing journey, which is why it is so important to have a customized approach with sessions that are specifically tailored for you – a combination of emotionally-focused psychotherapy and body-focused Transforming Touch, Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma.

Your body doesn’t have energy – it is energy. When we allow traumatic stress that is contained in our nervous system to begin to move through our system – flow begins to happen in our body and we feel more energetic, grounded, healthy and alive.

We explore our fluid bodies through the language of sensation, co-regulating touch, and  subtle movement. We have the opportunity of allowing time to slow down, to notice, let go and shed that which needs to shed, and to come through anew and refreshed.

For those who would like to focus on a body-focused, somatic approach, we begin by talking about your background, symptoms and history. We do this online and or in-person by sitting in chairs across from each other or you lie on your back on a table. When you are sitting in a chair, we can do some talk therapy, and you may also be asked if you are open to closing your eyes and noticing your feelings, emotions and body sensations that are happening for you in each moment.

For those who would like to do Co-Regulating Touch Bodywork for Trauma Session – sessions consist of lying on a table with eyes closed – and I offer touch on several areas of the body: the head, stress organs, the belly, and joints in the body.

Sessions are done fully clothed. Each session is one-hour, unless we are doing an extended session – and is unique depending on what you are experiencing on that day and would like to focus on during a session – we want to tune in and understand what’s really going on in your body – beyond pathology and diagnoses – to allow your body to move into a flow state, rather than to remain stuck in a stress response state – during the session and in the hours and days afterwards.

NEW Offering – An Invitation to Healing Ground – Living from the Core – An Embodiment Community Class – Coming September 2022

Let’s be together in nurturing community. Softly – let’s practice coming back to the body – together. We will go within to experience ourselves consciously living within our whole body. Feel more vibrantly alive, awake and responsive to life. Begin from the comfort of your own space – noticing the warmth and softness of the pillows and blankets underneath you. Know the truth of who you are. Feel authentic, real, free.

Slow down. Breathe. Open to somatic awareness, flowing energy and ease. Pay attention to your moment-to-moment biological unfolding process, taking you to places previously unknown to you. Sounds and breath soften your tissues – and water flows through your flesh and bone, rehydrating your body.

We will notice what happens in your body when your nervous system is activated, what supports you towards caring for yourself in this moment?

Together, we will practice being with sensation, emotion and awareness as it arises, sensing into our bodies and feeling them – becoming more aware of our bodies and selves in our wholeness. Practice subtle inward attunement and access to the subtle, flowing core of our bodies.

This is a practice of caring for ourselves and learning to be with difficulties as they arise – along with balancing our awareness in our bodies.

Be with your body – we will focus on your organs, cells and systems. Practice living more clearly balanced and settled in the core of your being. Recognize and care for the tender and young parts of ourselves that fuel our struggles in everyday life.

Be with the fear and feelings of inadequacy that drive your chronic stressful energies. Heal long-held nervous system patterns. Dive deeply into the sensations of your body to find the ground of your being. Practice fully receiving all of the nuances of life’s changes, inhabit your body, disentangled from habitual grasping of the movement of life.

Explore the qualities that nourish the experience of the ground of being: awareness; emotion; physical sensation; love; power; wisdom; wonder; intelligence. Attune to yourself and others within the pervasive field of fundamental consciousness.

Expand into the spaciousness of present moment awareness.

Experience Stillness. Silence. Movement. Flow. Breath. Sound.

HEART HEALING Sessions – Heart healing sessions are all about you, your path and healing. It is about several sessions scheduled over a period of days to support you along your healing path.

My clients love this work, it is nourishing and gentle. It is wonderful for healing early developmental trauma, attachment repair and shifting to a more regulated place where the heart can freely open into abundance.

You may want to schedule these sessions as a focused time for letting go of all that you healing. Heart Healing sessions consist of combining several sessions over a short period of time. They are a great way to get out of your daily routine and be immersed in healing. We may meet for multiple sessions per day over 2-4 days. Since you will be out of your typical routine, this will give plenty of time for integration of the work and healing.

The Heart Healing Sessions are held in my office in Markham. You can schedule between 2-4 sessions over a period of days. Since this work is done away from your typical day to day life, integration of the work is deep and truly transformative.

I am sending softness, gentleness and love from my heart to yours. May you slow down and receive the wisdom your body is seeking to share with you breath by breath.

Let’s plan your sessions in advance – if you are interested in scheduling or have questions, please get in touch and we will make a plan for your visit. [email protected] /

POLYVAGAL THEORY Safe & Sound Protocol OFFERING – The Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) is an auditory intervention for adults and children – using headphones – that is intended to accelerate the effectiveness of other modalities by preparing the client’s emotional and physiological state. Dr. Stephen Porges (developer of The Safe & Sound Protocol & of The Polyvagal Theory) explains that we need a calm autonomic/physiological state for health, growth and restoration, and achieving this becomes the foundation of an effective therapy.  The Safe & Sound Protocol is a way to support a change  in your physiological state; opening the system to further neural change and improvement for other therapies that follow. The process is designed to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience. The intervention uses prosodic vocal music that has been filtered to train the middle ear muscles to focus in on the frequency envelope of human speech. You’ll find you are better able to feel calm – less chronically stressed and/or anxious.  Clients who have experienced long-held trauma and are healing from PTSD, troubling chronic health concerns, chronic pain and troubling chronic emotional responses, can experience an increased sense of safety in their physiological state.

OTHER Offerings – Nurture Surround Healing Session– 90-minute In-Person session. Allow yourself to slow down and experience deep healing. You are deeply supported on the table with weighted blankets, soft pillows and bean bags on your body – you choose what is most comfortable for you – providing soft, nurturing care – feeling supported and held – with choice. We will take time to attune to your body’s core needs and comfort at a deep level. Your needs are important. I will use a variety of touch skills with you – and invite you to place a hand wherever you would like to on your body – and to pause, slow down and notice what you feel.

Using mind-body skills to stabilize your nervous system – befriending, grounding, slowing down, tracking and resourcing. We will listen to your body’s narrative while utilizing body-mind emotion dialogue. We will explore biological survival strategies and process historical trauma by creating moment-to-moment interpersonal experiences of safe connection. We will utilize non-cognitive senses of relational connection – auditory, visual, movement, and touch – co-creating manageable ways to defuse internal feelings of pressure, anxiety and stress.

NEW – SOMATIC MENTORING – I am now welcoming therapists, health care professionals, healers, coaches, bodyworkers and anyone who resonates with my work; who would like to have open space to explore how early developmental, prenatal and intergenerational trauma lives in their bodies  – explore somatic blocks to expansion, heal chronic anxiety, illness and pain patterns, and have an open space to explore the deepest parts of yourself in relation to yourself, your work, your life and your relationships with others. “Healing does not happen in linear time. Your True Self, absolute and ever-present, innocent and whole and free, is not a future destination, but a present-moment reality, always… even if it is obscured behind dark clouds of fear and shame. True ‘healing’ involves remembering your inner sanctuary, reconnecting with the wholeness, love, beauty and cosmic Safety that you are”. ~ Jeff Foster
I hope you find someone,
who ticks every item on your list.
Someone who matches up,
to the magical visions you hold in your mind.
I really, truly hope you find someone,
who is worthy of you,
in every way and sees you,
all of you, just as you are.
And wouldn’t have it any other way
for all the gold in the world.
I hope you find someone like this my friend
but most of all,
I hope you find all of the above
within yourself first.
It makes it easier you see,
like laying the pathway or coding the format.
Love yourself the way you want to be loved,
the rest just falls into place.
