Meet Yourself with Loving Presence.

“The enemy has an outpost in my mind.” Sally Kempton

We are hungry for connection, joy and laughter – and it is right there waiting for us to be with – but we have been tricked into believing we can only feel this way when certain things are happening in our life.

Many of us have abandoned our natural authenticity and are living in a place in our minds and bodies based on fear – preparing for the worst that can happen – while losing our ability to access the moment-to-moment joy and authenticity that we were born with.

When are truly present in our body, we receive life’s information through insight and intuition. We feel the flow and energy in our bodies and in our lives in each moment.

Clarity comes to us directly, arriving into us and we translate it into feelings and words. We don’t have to worry – we just know.

We all have the capacity to receive and embody the intelligence that animates and energizes us. We can practice tuning in to innate intelligence, the source of wisdom and compassion, because it is what we are.

From a young age, we are taught to abandon our inner knowing and natural authenticity and consult our fear-based survival system as the authority on how to live.

We no longer trust ourselves and put our trust and faith in others – who will eventually disappoint us – and we begin a loop of keeping ourselves out of connection because we trusted someone in the past and they let us down.

We hold back, we lose faith in others – and we don’t trust ourselves.

When we identify ourselves as a person ‘doing’ something, anything, and then we tell ourselves that this is who we are. When we identify with the ‘doing’ part of us, this cuts us off from the complete reception of our vital, conscious energy in our bodies and actions. This contributes to a feeling of numbness or deadness that we may feel in our bodies, minds and relationships.

When we’ve identified completely with our outward facing, doing-based world, we know that we are cut off from what is authentic, energetic and true about our authentic self. We are cut off from the innate wisdom that we are.

The present moment has spaciousness and fun in it. It is not caught up in the past or future, so there is a lightness, energy and joy in it too. Often, we are disconnected from these feelings and possibilities and do not know how to access this feeling of openness, presence and joy in our moment-to-moment experience.

We can connect to that beingness, by allowing our clinging thoughts about the way things should be or need to be, to fall away – it’s an awareness practice.

We want to direct our attention away from the chatter in our mind, and become aware of our thoughts. Slow down our pace inside our mind. We can create a new relationship with ourselves that frees up our vital, body energy, and that is loving, kind, compassionate and caring. While letting go of the old relationship we have with ourselves – that is harsh, judgmental, and punishing.

You may be carrying around the belief that there’s an infinite number of ways that you could get your life ‘wrong’, and that you are probably doing some of those things now – so, you must keep swimming upstream – trying to find answers – because that’s just the way life is.

When we feel badly, and some of you may be feeling now, our minds begin an endless of loop of harsh judgments against ourselves about why this has happened. There may be something going on in your work life or in personal life, and if it’s not going as we hoped, we blame ourselves, feel badly and begin to feel worse and worse and worse.

We avoid what we fear – and we don’t do or say what we are afraid of saying or doing – and we become stuck.

What we call fear is a story – a conversation in our conditioned mind that heightens bad feelings in the body. We believe our bodily sensations are the result of our fear, but when we pay close attention, we can see that our bodily sensations fuel the story of fear.

When we can learn to be with what we fear – with love and kindness – we can begin to see clearly the conditioned beliefs and assumptions that keep our fear hidden.

When you no longer need to deny or flee from what is here – you can be with what’s happening in your body, and meet it with your loving presence. In the here and now, you can meet yourself – and begin again.

An Awareness Practice for You

The desire to control circumstances and outcomes suppresses the excitement, vitality and curiosity of being alive.

When we don’t fall for our story of fear – and stay with the sensations in our body – with an openness we’ve been taught to avoid – we discover that we are and the intensity and vitality of life – are one in the same.

With new awareness, we learn to recognize our story of fear – and connect to our body sensations. We step into the presence of what is and can begin to see there’s nothing there to fear – our fearful event happened in the past, and we’re feeling it in the present.

We can practice being here in this moment, with conscious awareness – so we can feel the presence of our bodies – while letting go of fear.

When you practice awareness – what do you notice?

Re-Wild Your Life with Embodied Study – A 3-Month ‘In-Your Body’ Rediscovery Program for WomenTravel deep within yourself. Rediscover your ALIVENESS.

This program is for women who are ready for a deep dive– willing to commit, make time, and clear space for the deeply penetrating and likely life-changing process that somatic work and embodied study bring about.

This is an opportunity to explore the most significant aspects of yourself and your history–in ways not easily available to the thinking self, yet accessible through your body’s awareness and inner senses, intuitive movement, mind-body dialogue, your unique creative and spiritual expression.

In this program, we will engage the two interweaving pathways that comprise any authentic journey of transformation: the ascending pathway of realizing our true nature, and the descending pathway of integrating that nature into our down-on-the-ground human embodiment and human life. We will cultivate the subtle body, which is the bridge that allows our awake nature to come down to earth, and to manifest in our lives.

I've wanted to do this for a while and I'm so glad I did - I trust myself more now, I feel more calm and open - working together has changed the course of my life.
