Lean Away from Your ‘Scared Self’.
If you want to be present with all the parts of the authentic YOU, don’t run.
That’s what we do when we are faced with feelings and struggles that don’t feel good – when we don’t want to be vulnerable – we run from relationships, situations and ourselves.
Breathe. Stay. Don’t Run.
When you feel this way, you know that your ‘scared self’ is talking to you and you are believing what it is saying.
When you are present, you can feel your ‘scared self’ – the part of you that tells you you’re not good enough, not worthy, that you’re unlovable, that you’re not ready, you can’t fulfill your dreams, or have the relationships you want.
The part that keeps the truth of you out of soul connection with yourself and with others.
There’s your ‘scared self’ and the part of you protecting your ‘scared self’.
Free yourself from the ‘scared self’ part of you by leaning away from it.
When you feel your mind reacting to the ‘scared self’ voice inside of you, notice, be aware, but don’t listen – relax, let go and let those feelings pass right through you.
When we start believing the voice inside our heads that tells us that we have a problem and we need to be scared. Then we become agitated and allow that ‘scared self’, which is not the truth of us, to run the show.
Once you have this awareness of your ‘scared self’ – you can relax and lean away from it and allow the truth of you – which is love, not fear – to flow through you.
Often, you get trapped in the fear zone.
Take a moment to consider the difference between your experience of the outside world and your experience of the ‘scared self’ part of your inner world. Your inner world is something that you can make sense of and control – the outside world is something that is outside of your control.
What you end up experiencing in your mind is a personal presentation of the outside world according to you. You create the outside world inside yourself and then you live that in your mind.
What if you decided not to do this?
If you decided to consciously observe the world, without your inner chatter, and experience the world as it actually is, without processing those experiences in ways that makes them fit with your views of the past and your visions of the future.
Reality often feels too overwhelming for us to experience as it’s happening, so we temper it with the thoughts in our mind.
You have given your mind a job to do – which is to protect your ‘scared self’ – and defend you. This has made you feel more secure.
Being true to yourself is about transcending the part of you that is not ok and needs protection.
This is done by consciously remembering that you are the one inside that notices the voice talking. You are not the ‘scared self’ and you don’t need protection.
You are safe.
That is the way out of this repetitive pattern.
To be aware that you are watching this inner voice inside of you is to stand on the edge of an amazing inner journey.
Witness your inner show.
You have an underlying pattern of thoughts that goes around and around you all the time. The pattern of thoughts is pretty much the same. You also experience emotions that are pretty much the same – some fear, sadness, anger, insecurity, love and joy. You know that if certain things happen, you will experience more of certain emotions than of others.
Once you become conscious of all of this, you can attain a totally different state. You begin to be aware of who you actually are. Not what you should be doing or what other people are doing, who you actually are.
You become an awakened being.
All that means is that you have an awareness of the processes of your mind, and you don’t have to act on them.
When you experience this new awakened consciousness, the world and what’s happening around you becomes less of a problem. The more you are willing to let go – to just let the world be something you’re aware of, the more it will let you be who you are – pure awareness itself.
This is the practice of letting go of fear and practicing love – of leaning away from your ‘scared self’.
