How Does Your Relationship Feel?

January 22, 2017

Relationships are the laboratory for healing.

When we seek love without giving it to ourselves first, we will never be satisfied with what we get. But when we love ourselves, as if by magic, we find ourselves completely loved by others, too.

The first step to cultivating harmony in any relationship is to to cultivate harmony within the self.

When you are searching for peace and contentment in your relationship, hold up a mirror.

Notice the beliefs about relationships that you have embraced or rejected from your family.

What do you notice when you ask yourself:

Do I avoid conflict or want to talk things through in my relationships?

Do I walk away and hope it will all sort itself out?

Do I look for solutions or ignore the need to develop deeper understanding?

Maybe you just feel overwhelmed or abandoned.

Do you hold your thoughts in?

Do you go along to get along? Because that’s the way it’s always been.

Sometimes, we feel like a victim in our relationship and struggle to understand our feelings. It can feel complicated.

Ask yourself:

How should my relationship feel?

How do I want my partner to treat me?

What role should my partner play in my life?

Allow yourself to flow with your uncertainty and questioning – to be unclear – to flow as you are, without knowing the answers in your heart.

To know at a deep level, that if you stay close to myself and pay attention, the answers will come.

Give yourself time to be with these questions:

What do I want my relationship to look like?

What are the new beliefs I want to cultivate?

What if we want different things?

How do I support and empower myself and our relationship to move in that direction?

There’s another way of being in relationships that allows us to move beyond conflict and find peace within the chaos of life.

We can turn within with kind, loving attention – to track our energy as it moves through us and expand our capacity to sustain present awareness.

We pay attention to the rhythms, patterns and cycles of life – and know that our flowing energy connects us to our feminine nature.

Together, we observe the mind at rest, the body in movement, and the heart in stillness – creating a safe container for safe emotions to arise and pass through the body – providing new tools for emotional understanding and connection to ourselves and others.

We explore how we communicate verbally and non-verbally in our relationships and lives.

As we experience being mindful, we open the door to becoming present and free in our relationships. You can replace the blame, anger, and dissatisfaction in your relationships with peace, acceptance and love.

Relationships can be so challenging to understand.

I work with individuals and couples to help them learn how to communicate from a place of love and peace, identify and release common stumbling blocks in their relationships, empower yourself by understanding your role in your own happiness, free your loved ones from the responsibility of making you happy, nurture a sense of love and compassion, and deepen and enrich your relationships.

Harmonious relationships come from a place of love – together, we will practice mindfulness, self-reflection, breathwork, sessions with homework to help you attain freedom in your relationship, and cultivate ongoing harmony in your relationship.

I've wanted to do this for a while and I'm so glad I did - I trust myself more now, I feel more calm and open - working together has changed the course of my life.
