Embodied Attunement – The Frequency of Your Body’s Authentic Expression – Engaging Your Body’s Innate Capacity for Repair & Resilience – A Gentle Exploration of Somatic Nourishment & Supportive Somatic Healing Touch.

December 4, 2025

Your body already holds the answers. I will facilitate space for them to reveal themselves.

My absolute deepest desire for you is that you realize your presence—which is so valuable—is available to you one hundred percent of the time. That your flavour of love, care, kindness, and honesty is available from you, towards you, in every moment of every day.

My deepest desire for you is that you go all in on your life, and that you choose to feel and express all your feelings that are part of the natural way that the light of the infinite moves through you.

My deepest desire for you is that you see beauty everywhere—in nature, in intimacy, in silence, in joy, within yourself.

My deepest desire is that you crack open and find your wholeness right there, where it always was, is, within you, and forever will be.

My deepest desire for you is that you allow yourself to value yourself just because you are you. Not because of anything you did or didn’t do, not because of anything that did or didn’t happen to you, but simply because you are the Infinite remembering itself in form.

My deepest desire for you is that you believe and trust in the possibilities in the universe. The trauma vortex is very narrow, but the field of abundance is infinite. May we tap into it through focused intention; may we cultivate it; may we plug into it; may we be it.

The trauma vortex pulls us into looping thoughts, looping sensations and looping stories that reinforce the same message – everything is bad, everything is dangerous – nothing good exists. When we tighten like this, it’s hard to notice moments of neutrality or ease; the sensations that could actually make your body feel more spacious.

We can create more capacity to notice what your nervous system is doing. This is nervous system repair and flexibility. Stress and anxiety lives in the body just as much as in our emotional being. The racing heart, the flushed face, the tight belly, the lump in the throat, the clenched jaw—these are all physical expressions of a nervous system on high alert.

High alert, also known as “fight, flight and freeze” states are often practiced tension patterns that are unconsciously held in the nervous system and body.

Somatic practices such as Somatic Resilience & Regulation, Somatic Intentional Touch, Somatic Experiencing, Feldenkrais and vagus nerve exercises work by engaging the body directly to help regulate the nervous system and bring these symptoms back into balance.

When we can learn to feel our emotions and body sensations as they are happening, instead of suppressing them, we can begin to share our true feelings with those that we are in relationship with, and can begin to truly heal.

When we feel hurt and don’t feel safe to feel it, the mind relocates the discomfort, and projects it onto the other person.

For example:
“He must have bad intentions.”
“She is manipulative.”
“They only care about themselves.”
“He is corrupt or selfish or untrustworthy.”

None of this means the other person is flawless. People fail each other all the time. But the speed and the certainty and the moral superiority of these thoughts come from your own suppressed hurt, not from reality.

Our body has an organic bracing / defensive response. When we feel unsafe—physically or emotionally—our body naturally tightens or braces. This is a protective reflex, built into our nervous system. Over time, if stress or trauma is repeated or unresolved, this bracing pattern can become our “new normal.”

You might notice it most in one area—your shoulders, your jaw, your stomach—but it’s really a whole-body pattern. The muscles are held in subtle readiness, like a car engine idling too high. We may not even notice it until pain, tension, or exhaustion shows up.

This bracing is part of what keeps the nervous system “stuck” in a stress response. Even when the mind tries to relax, the body is still sending messages of tension and threat.

Somatic methods invite and support the body to complete unfinished protective responses and return to a natural rhythm of tension and release.

We slow down and notice small sensations—tightness, fluttering, warmth, or softening—so the body can discharge survival energy bit by bit, rather than holding it.

We use gentle, mindful movement to bring awareness to habitual patterns. As we learn to move in new, easier ways, the brain updates its sense of safety and control.

Supporting the vagus nerve by using coherence breathing, making sounds, listening to the Safe & Sound listening protocol directly engage the body’s “rest and digest” system, signaling safety and calm.

All of these approaches use the body’s own neurophysiology to shift our inner state. They don’t force relaxation—they invite regulation.

We can rewire the nervous system through experience and repetition. When we bring awareness to how we hold ourselves—our resting muscle tone, our breathing, our posture—we begin to update old patterns in the brain.

This is about restoring natural mobility and ease . The body learns that it can mobilize when needed and also rest when it’s safe. Over time, this builds true resilience—the ability to move fluidly between activation and calm.

A simple way to begin is by noticing what’s happening inside with a non-judgment non-corrective attitude:

  • Where do you feel effort or holding in your body right now?

  • Is your breath shallow, deep, or are you holding your breath?

  • Are your shoulders and arms squeezing in, or are you pressing your tongue into the roof of your mouth or the backs of your teeth?

These small observations tell the nervous system it can let go, that there’s no threat right now. Over time, this gentle awareness helps reduce symptoms like racing heart, heat in the body, or tension in the jaw and chest.

The body isn’t just the container for our stress—it’s also the pathway out. By learning to sense ourselves, move, and breathe with awareness, we can help our nervous system find its natural balance again. The result isn’t just relief from physical symptoms—it’s a deeper sense of safety and presence in our own skin.

The Wild – Our Authentic Self

As children, a lot of us aren’t taught to be ourselves, we are taught to fit in, and in many cases this helps us survive. However, often this means that we turn away from the more unique, sensitive, intuitive, playful, expressive, and imaginative parts of ourselves. In doing so we disconnect from the emotional and spiritual parts of us that hold the information about who we truly are and our larger purpose in life. We disconnect from our innate gifts and talents we are meant to share with the world. This often results in feelings of loneliness, emptiness, stuckness, anger, and sadness as adults.

The Wild isn’t about ignoring consequences or acting feral out of selfishness. Instead, it’s about tuning into the underlying natural wisdom that exists within – the blueprint you were born with that holds the truth of who you are. Embracing this allows us to drop the masks and the ways we have been performing to meet external standards and expectations, to instead start living in ways that allow us to determine our own.

This Wild is the very essence of who we are as humans – our biology and our biography – it connects us to everything. Disconnection from our Wild nature is at the root of much of our modern-day suffering—appearing as anxiety, depression, chronic illness, loneliness, extinction, abuse, and violence. Coping skills and tools can help with immediate discomfort, but for true, sustainable change, we need to reconnect with this part of who we are. Remembering ourselves as an interconnected part of nature (we are animals after all) and the Divine is the path of healing

We go slowly. You bring the willingness to look within.

Maybe you’ve been carrying more than people realize, functioning beautifully on the outside… managing, juggling, coping… while something inside feels incongruent, contracted, held tight or stretched thin.

Maybe you’ve had those nights where you lie awake wondering why, despite all that you’ve already done, something in you still feels a sense of unrest.

Maybe you’ve learned the language of healing but your body still feels like it’s braced or in defensive responses.

We work with what is presenting in the moment, and change happens through experiential shifts as we stay with what arises in the moment. You bring all of you, as you are in the moment; scared, vulnerable, unsure etc… and we work with that first.

And slowly, the nervous system reorganizes itself as it is held in safety, presence and attunement. All that needs to be here is your willingness to show up, exactly as you are.

Learning to feel and be with the part that doesn’t feel ready, is in fact the work.

I bring presence, and the slow, attuned way of working that helps your body unwind at its own pace. This work is about gently creating the conditions where your system feels safe enough to soften and reorganize, not be forced open in any way.

Then the journey inwards to meet your true self begins.

If that’s where you are, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.

Some Somatic Approaches You’ll Experience:

This work supports you to feel more ease through deep embodiment, the immense gifts of slowing way down, how to lovingly hold and transform your story and become a master of our nervous system.

Our early developmental and attachment wounding is a wound with life itself. To an infant, our attachment with our mother is everything – our very experience of ourselves and of the world was filtered through the body and psyche of our mother.

Somatic touch work – both in-person and intentional touch on Zoom – focuses on helping each person regulate their nervous systems and access deeper layers of safety, embodiment, and connection. Grounded in gentle, attuned intentional touch, this approach supports the resolution of developmental and attachment trauma by engaging the body’s innate capacity for repair and resilience.

By integrating somatic touch into my existing modalities, I bring a more nuanced and holistic approach to my work with clients—one that honours the intricate interplay between mind, body, and emotion. Whether through conversation, movement, or mindful touch, my work continues to create pathways toward greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and embodied well-being.

Clients interested in exploring these deep somatic healing sessions or learning more about how this work can support you, please reach out directly for more information.

NEW ONLINE GROUP FOR WOMEN – BEGINNING FEBRUARY 2026
BEING HELD – ALLOWING YOUR BODY TO YIELD, REST & UNFOLD – ZOOM CLASSES

Guided, intentional supportive rest, is a process of renegotiating our relationship to feeling safe in our body. In our earliest years, the experience of feeling safe in our body; to let go; to drop-in, through the developmental model of Yielding. We are designed to naturally yield in the arms of a safe caregiver that holds us when we cry or are tired. For many of us, this is experience was interrupted or went missing in our little bodies. Now we practice supportive rest not just as a way to soothe our body and nervous system, but to give our body the opportunity to safely yield once again, to receive an often unmet need. When our body feels safe enough to let go of bracing patterns, soften into support and drop in to heaviness, it learns to trust being safely supported and safely at ease. This is essential for healing.

For each session, allow yourself to lie down on a couch or a bed, finding comfort with supportive pillows and blankets; and not looking directly at the camera to bring ease to your nervous system. We can practice being present and held together.

This is a practice of integration and supports you to integrate trauma patterns held in the body, so you can feel more ease in your life.

These sessions are not just about the act of “rest” but the implementation of consistently offering our body a safe space to explore its needs and negotiate safety within. To attune to yourself and pay close attention to your sensations and emotions. If you’re someone who has always struggled with rest, maybe finding it hard to ever slow down or not stay busy, this is vital for you. It’s not about getting your body to “calm down” or to even fully “rest” right away, but to show it a consistent place to safely land when its ready to and how it needs to. Consistency is what matters here and can be profound for our bodies.

Monthly Exploration Themes include: Cultivating Self-Compassion Through the Body – Touching Grief Through the Body – Cultivating Rest & Safety Through the Body – Exploring Inner Stillness – Resting the Heavy Heart – Resting Tired Eyes, Shoulders, Jaw and Head – Orienting Towards Ease & Pleasure – Releasing Unconscious Body Contracts & Noticing / Letting Go of Protective & Defensive Body Patterns.

During 2026 – we will take some time to reflect on what is unfolding & blossoming this year for you.

This group will support you to focus on yourself, prioritize your well-being, your needs, your boundaries, your growth – and ask you to consider deeper questions of the soul – what truly nourishes you? What is already supporting you? What is missing? How can you fill up your body, mind and heart with the deepest parts of you? What are some rituals, practices and actions you can take to get closer to what is unfolding within you?

Ready to feel, yield, blossom and build some nervous system regulation together?

Let me know if you are planning to attend – and I will send along a Zoom link for the the first session.

Every body is welcome – I’m so looking forward to being with you.

SLOW HEALING SOMATIC TRAUMA INTENSIVE SESSIONS – Heart Healing Somatic Trauma Intensive sessions are all about you, your path and healing. These intensive extended sessions are scheduled during one day or a period of days to support you along your healing path.

My clients love this work, it is nourishing and gentle. It is wonderful for healing early developmental trauma, attachment repair and shifting to a more regulated place where the heart can freely open into abundance.

You may want to schedule these sessions as a focused time for letting go of all that you healing. Heart Healing sessions consist of combining several sessions over a short period of time. They are a great way to get out of your daily routine and be immersed in healing. We may meet for multiple sessions per day over a period of days. Since you will be out of your typical routine, this will give plenty of time for integration of the work and healing.

FEMININE EMBODIMENT & PATRIARCHAL DYNAMICS – get in touch with your feminine energetic dynamics, internal felt sense, your deepest heart, masculine and feminine energies, layers of dissociation, learn about how patriarchal dynamics effect your relationships and your sense of self, heal the survival responses and defensive accommodations that keep us out of connection. Explore somatic blocks to expansion, heal chronic anxiety, illness and pain patterns, and have an open space to explore the deepest parts of yourself in relation to yourself, your work, your life and your relationships with others. This work happens online via Zoom.

The SAFE and SOUND LISTENING PROTOCOL / The REST and RESTORE LISTENING PROTOCOL – Both the SSP and RRP are sound healing therapies for increased nervous system regulation and resilience. The SSP starts by inviting the body to really receive the signals of connection and safety. Then, once that connection is made, it invites the body to remain connected to safety even as signals of threat are introduced and increased. The RRP is designed to entrain with the systems in the body such breath and heart rate and to coax those systems to be less fixed, to have more flow. The music bypasses cognition and “speaks” directly to the body and the body systems. Your sleep and waking cycle will improve, as will your digestion and chronic feelings of anxiety. “By fostering coherence and harmony within their neural pathways, RRP is designed to help individuals feel more at ease and to improve mental and physical well-being.”

HEALING FAMILY TRAUMA IMPRINT – 90-minute – in-person or online Zoom session – an opportunity to get to the roots of intergenerational trauma patterns & begin a path towards relational & relationship healing.

Meet for a series of focused, online sessions to help uncover, understand and practice noticing ongoing nervous system triggers that keep you locked in a negative cycle of conflict / avoidance that is very difficult to resolve. Your early developmental trauma and co-dependent patterns are very much at play in your closest relationships and we can understand and work towards healing:

1) Your individual early developmental trauma patterns – what got missed or neglected and why.
2) Your individual nervous system patterns, responses and reactions – and how you can do your own healing work to soothe and ease your responses and pain.
3) How your family of origin plays a very significant role in your relationships now, how they do, and to work towards a healing program for your relationship, and for each person in the relationship.
4) Be with Relational Wounding & Defensive Accommodations when it shows up in your relationship – and how this effects emotional & physical intimacy.
5) Be with and Face Hot Button issues when they arise and cause conflict.
6) Take 100% responsibility for yourself in your relationship.

Our feelings, bodily sensations and relational patterns are clues to what is being held in the unconscious – so we must be present to them. Conflict can give us the opportunity to awaken out of the conditioning that we are a separate, disconnected self.  Get in touch to learn more and work together  – www.kimcochrane.ca
