Your feelings and fears are not your fault. They may have become rooted inside of you at an early age – before you had conscious awareness. Now, it’s time to explore and let go of what is hidden – what keeps you feeling overwhelmed, scared and shut down – and create an opening to resolve the trauma that has been keeping you stuck – so you can begin to feel better in every area of your life.
Traumatic events can happen to anyone, at any age, at any time. Trauma is an extremely personal experience and what may be highly traumatic for one person, may not even phase another. Trauma may begin as acute stress from a perceived life-threat or as the end product of cumulative stress. Both types of stress can seriously impair a person’s ability to function with resilience and ease. The good news is, trauma symptoms are treatable.
Trauma may result from a wide variety of stressors such as accidents, invasive medical procedures, sexual or physical assault, emotional abuse or neglect, war, natural disasters, loss, birth trauma, or the corrosive life and relationship stressors of ongoing fear and conflict. If you have experienced a traumatic event you may be struggling with trapped survival energy and related symptoms such as: sleep disturbance, anxiety, eating disorders, intrusive thoughts or flashbacks; avoiding thoughts, feelings, people, and places associated with the trauma; persistent negative thoughts and moods; and an increase in irritability and anger. These are all normal responses to an abnormal event.
Healing from these experiences is possible with a somatic approach – where you will release trapped survival energy bound up as emotion, chronic pain, stress or illness and resolve trauma from within. Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Somatic Trauma Touch therapy can help reduce traumatic symptoms and restore balance to your life. My training includes a variety of different therapies which allows me to draw from different resources and customize a plan that is unique for each client.

With a focus on body-focused emotional and physical understanding – I know that emotions and our trauma history is held and expressed unconsciously in our bodies – this is deep, life-affirming work.
Deep emotional and physical healing begins with slowing down – and with ongoing, individualized attention. Our current medical model does not always know how to assess or treat chronic emotional or physical symptoms and concerns. The model that makes something go away or fixes something, doesn’t work for ongoing, chronic emotional or physical concerns and conditions.
There’s a gap in our current healthcare model – and I am working with my clients to fill it – with a client-centred, individualized and trauma-informed, whole body somatic health systems approach. The gap for clients who have chronic stress, emotional distress and physical concerns, results in continued emotional and physical suffering by continually living with signs and symptoms that many medical professionals do not know how to resolve.
You may be experiencing feelings of isolation or a sense of uncertainty and a loss of some of your everyday functions – an whole body somatic health approach can deeply heal chronic emotional and physical concerns. The majority of doctors do not know how to work with chronic concerns – trauma, stress or chronic fatigue and get to the root cause of these issues in an individualized way, tailored for each person – this is my area of specialty and I can help.
The true remedy for chronic emotional and physical healing requires input and personal knowledge from each person who is struggling with any chronic symptoms or feelings – along with working with someone who will work with you, as a whole-person in to a somatic healing process – that includes attending to your whole body – your cells and your history – showing up in your life today (as chronic illness, pain, stress patterns, anxiety, depression, feelings of stuckness or overwhelm, and a weakened immune system response).
Understanding the web of interactions in the body – and the impact of your daily choices on your body’s systems, on your emotional and physical health, as well as the role of hidden and/or childhood trauma on chronic emotional or physical concerns – that may be preventing you from feeling better, even when you’ve done everything your doctor has asked of you
Your past experiences have laid down beliefs and feelings at an emotional, pre-cognitive level, held in the cells and structures of your body. These unconscious and unfelt experiences have kept you believing certain things about yourself, others, and the world in order to keep you safe – a completely natural phenomenon. You will be supported in sharing and exploring those beliefs and the feelings you’ve had to enable you to live the full life you deserve. You will be encouraged to make decisions that will allow you to move beyond your current symptoms and patterns to live into the hopes you desire for your life.
Feel it. Renegotiate the hidden trauma that has been suppressed inside of you – it might hurt but it is holding you back – every moment you’re feeling, you’re doing the work. Every moment you’re hurting, you’re healing. The only way out is through.
