Longing for Love, Acceptance & Understanding.

October 31, 2016

“Love is the most powerful force in the universe, and for centuries mystics have understood the transformative potential of divine love. Love draws us back to love, love uncovers love, love makes us whole and love takes us home.” ~ Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

A gentle, sometimes urgent longing or restlessness can awaken you. When you listen, you hear a small but persistent voice that urges you to pay attention. This voice invites you into exploring what may keep you from love, belonging and satisfying relationships. It allows you to hope for fuller joy and well-being. It can be difficult to trust this voice and yet something in you knows it is rooted in a deep wisdom.

You may have survived some of life’s deepest sorrows and harshest realities. We all have a story. If there are any guarantees in life, it’s that there will be suffering and sometimes, we will struggle.

Through it all, you have been strong, resilient and adaptive and yet there is a sense that there is more. It is not uncommon to need to return to wounded places that feel old and new all at once. Painful experiences in your current life can often stir up familiar echoes, that resound against the tender places that happened before.

Recently, I attended a workshop about love and the nourishing communication that comes from the heart. We practiced noticing the hidden ways our bodies may keep us from receiving the very love and connection that we’re longing for. What’s amazing about this work is that with awareness, there’s always a way to open yourself to receive love in ways you may never known.

Your body knows.

Quietly, in my small group, we talked about feeling a love deficit. That all us have experienced loving others, and feeling loved, but that at one time or another, we may not always have received it by those we wanted it from or in the ways that we needed.

Little by little, we discussed how this may shut parts of us down – closing our bodies and hearts – away from being open to receiving the love that’s always universally available to us, that we can’t always access.

The simplicity of noticing and being with – being in the present moment, offering embodied presence, and using gentle touch and movement – can allow us to go within and notice the habits and patterns of the body, mind and heart. This awareness can be powerful and transformative.

When we feel our own resistance, the pain we feel in the middle of our chest, and the ways we feel overwhelmed or confused, we are learning our ways of being – and when we’re aware, we can make a different choice in the moment.

A long time ago, something happened. Someone said or did something when you were very young and you made an interpretation of what it meant. That interpretation became the foundation of a core belief – and you hold the feelings of that belief in your mind, body and relationships.

That belief has been running your life, choosing your feelings and justifying your reactions as if it was the truth. More than ‘letting go of the past’ – you can learn to re-interpret the events of so long ago and transform the belief that was made at that time.

Working together is one of the ways to respond to your longing and restlessness. I will create a relationship with empathy and genuine presence to promote trust and safety. I will be attuned to you and work collaboratively with you to process the pain you carry, to hold the chapters of your story with you.

This can lead to healing your emotional pain, longing and restlessness. Feeling seen, heard and deeply understood can feel incredibly vulnerable and yet can be the very thing you’ve been hoping for all along.

I look forward to being with you.

love Kim, xo.

In-person & Skype sessions are available for Individuals & Couples – a time for you – to feel seen, heard and deeply understood.

Re-Wild Your Life with An Embodied Study – A 3-Month ‘In-Your Body’ Rediscovery Program for WomenTravel deep within yourself. Rediscover your body’s intelligence. Come back to your body – learn to be playful and creative again.

This program is for women who are ready for a deep dive– willing to commit, make time, and clear space for the deeply penetrating and likely life-changing process that somatic work and embodied study bring about.

This is an opportunity to explore the most significant aspects of yourself and your history–in ways not easily available to the thinking self, yet accessible through your body’s awareness and inner senses, intuitive movement, mind-body dialogue, your unique creative and spiritual expression. In this program, we will engage the two interweaving pathways that comprise any authentic journey of transformation: the ascending pathway of realizing our true nature, and the descending pathway of integrating that nature into our down-on-the-ground human embodiment and human life. We will cultivate the subtle body, which is the bridge that allows our awake nature to come down to earth, and to manifest in our lives.

I've wanted to do this for a while and I'm so glad I did - I trust myself more now, I feel more calm and open - working together has changed the course of my life.
